Elderly Ipoh Man Found Dead In Hotel After Going Missing For 2 Days
The police urged the public to avoid speculating about the incident.
A 62-year-old man who went missing for two days has been found dead in a hotel in Ipoh, Perak
According to Malay Mail, R Thinakaran was last seen leaving his house in a dark blue Honda Accord on 11 March for a physiotherapy appointment.
T Ashmitha said her father was unreachable as he had left his phone at home.
His family was concerned for his safety as he suffered from severe back pain and diabetes. He also had a history of bypass surgery and a medical condition known as multifocal motor neuropathy.
Ipoh police district chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said Thinakaran was found unresponsive in a hotel room yesterday, 13 March, following a report from the public at around 4.20pm
"The medical officer from Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) arrived at the scene and confirmed the death. No visible injuries were found on the deceased's body.
"The body has been sent to the HRPB forensic unit for a post-mortem today (14 March) to determine the cause of death," he said in a statement.
FMT reported that the case has been classified as sudden death, as there were no signs of criminal activity or foul play.
Abang Zainal urged the public to refrain from speculating about the incident or sharing images and videos from the scene on social media, out of respect for the victim's family's privacy, reported Malay Mail.
