Maszlee showed up unexpectedly at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seberang Marang in Terengganu yesterday, 8 July.

The Education Minister seemed popular among the students, as he received high-fives and fist bumps from them.

During his visit, Maszlee found out that the construction of a two-storey building at the school has been behind schedule

"The construction of the two-storey building at SK Seberang Marang has been overdue," the Education Minister was quoted as saying by Bernama.

He added that the Ministry will be observing all school projects to make sure that they will be "accelerated within five years".

According to the Bernama report, the construction of the two-storey building was supposed to be completed in February.

Following the tardy construction of the building at SK Seberang Marang, Maszlee warned contractors across the country regarding belated completion of school projects

"All contractors need to be ready because I will show up anytime and anywhere," the Education Minister warned, before adding that there are abandoned school projects in a few states.

"They need to follow the original schedule and if they are late, action will be taken," he added.
