Dr Dzulkefly: The Smoking Ban Does Not Include Vape And Shisha

"For the time being, the ban will only involve tobacco products. We will take regulatory and legal approaches for vapes and shisha but in other legislative categories," Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad was quoted as saying by Bernama last night, 16 November
According to the Health Minister, the new ban against smoking in eateries including restaurants, food outlets and hawker stalls, set to come into effect from 1 January 2019, does not include puffing on vaporised liquid nicotine (vape) and shisha.
Dr Dzulkefly was speaking at the Award and Recognition of the Blue Ribbon Campaign 2018, which has been held since 2013 to protect the public from the dangers of cigarette smoke through advocacy efforts to create 100 per cent non-smoking areas.
The smoking ban, meanwhile, is to be enforced on all covered and AC restaurants, or open-concept restaurants and stalls
Anyone caught breaching the ban will face a fine of RM10,000 and eateries that fail to enforce the law to be slapped with a fine of RM2,500, reported Bernama.
