Perak Garbage Truck Driver's Daughter Does Her Parents Proud By Scoring 5As In STPM

She, along with another student, was awarded Best Student for STPM 2019.

A garbage truck driver's daughter has done her parents proud after she was awarded the Best Student under the B40 category for Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 2019

The daughter, Nuraini Jalaluddin, scored 5As with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0, reported Harian Metro.

Nuraini said she was thankful for the acknowledgement of her achievements.

"I never thought my efforts in burning the midnight oil till the very end would yield such results," she said.

Her father works with the Pengkalan Hulu District Council while her mother is a housewife

Nuraini mentioned that by gaining an education she can change the fate of her family towards a better future. 

"My father has been driving a garbage truck for 33 years and will retire next month, I hope he can rest and enjoy his old age after this," she said.

Meanwhile, another student was awarded the Best Student for STPM 2019 in the Orang Asli category

According to New Straits Times, Aimy Mahad managed to score 5As with a CGPA of 3.84, and hopes to secure her ambition in becoming a teacher.

Aimi is part of the Semai tribe in Kuala Lipis, Pahang.

"As a teacher, I want to help the Orang Asli children to excel in their studies. I also hope what I have achieved will influence the rest of the Semai tribe to change their lives and their family's," she was quoted as saying.
