A 43-year-old man has spent his entire savings to support his 19-year-old daughter, who suffered severe injuries in an acid attack last month

According to Harian Metro, Azman Shah Mohammad said his daughter, Nadia Fasha Qistina, was targeted by an assailant who posed as an e-hailing driver while she was heading home from work in Denai Alam, Selangor.

The incident occurred on 8 November, merely six days into Nadia's employment at a clinic in Denai Alam, and Azman mentioned that the perpetrator swiftly fled the scene after the assault.

"The attack inflicted serious injuries on my daughter's face, body, and legs, requiring eight surgeries," said Azman.

Azman added that his daughter has been receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital for the past eight weeks, and had to undergo eight surgeries to restore her skin and save her eyes

"The price of a skin graft goes beyond RM4,000, and I have already spent RM32,000 to acquire eight pieces of skin tissue," said Azman, who sells burgers for a living.

Besides that, he also said he spends RM1,600 weekly to purchase antiseptic dressings for Nadia.

"Up to now, I have spent all of my savings. The doctor has also informed me that my daughter might have to remain in the hospital for a year and rely on medication for the rest of her life," he added.

Azman also shared that his wife is warded at the same hospital due to panic attacks caused by the tragedy that happened to their daughter.

The father hopes that the police will be able to quickly find the perpetrator, whom he believes may have been hired by someone to target his daughter

Harian Metro reported that Shah Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim has confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are underway.
