Cosplayer Cuts Off Boyfriend's Finger, Keeps It In Fridge To Stop Him From Marrying Others
She also cut off part of his nipple, believing it would grow back.
A Japanese cosplayer has stunned the Internet after allegedly severing her boyfriend's ring finger and preserving it in the fridge
The 23-year-old woman, Saki Sato, reportedly told authorities she "loved him too much" and didn't want him to marry someone else or exchange wedding rings.
According to South China Morning Post, the police were called to a flat in Osaka in January after a 21-year-old man dialled emergency services, claiming his girlfriend had attacked him following an argument about their breakup.
Police officers arrived to find visible injuries on the man's cheek and nose. He later revealed that Sato had cut off his left ring finger.
Police discovered the severed finger soaking in alcohol inside the refrigerator.
The investigation also uncovered more disturbing details. Sato had allegedly kept the man's bank book and smartphone locked in a safe, and had previously cut off part of his left nipple.
The man told police he didn't report the abuse sooner because of her beauty, saying he felt unable to leave.
The pair reportedly met online in 2023 when the man, then a secondary school pupil, became infatuated with Sato's cosplay persona.
They moved in together that July, but he soon realised she was controlling.
Sato preferred "gentle, obedient soft boys" and would withhold access to his phone unless he asked for permission
On 19 October 2024, during another confrontation, she allegedly yelled, "I do not want you marrying another woman and exchanging rings," before cutting off his finger.
Sato has been charged with three counts of assault but denies all charges, claiming he mutilated himself.
Online, some likened the case to a real-life yandere, a common anime trope involving obsessive and violent lovers.
