The allure of discounted branded beauty products proved too much to resist for shoppers in Kota Kinabalu, forcing a Victoria's Secret outlet to call off a sale after it descended into total chaos on Sunday, 1 April
In a video that has gone viral on social media, eager shoppers were seen screaming and rushing into the store to get their hands on the Victoria's Secret perfumes and lotions on offer
For context, the lingerie company put their Mist and Lotion Collection up for a promotional price of RM29 each in selected Victoria's Secret outlets nationwide. The products are originally priced at RM79 each.
At the time of writing, the video has been shared over 5,800 times on Facebook.
Things escalated to the point that the store's security guards struggled to keep the doors closed, as shoppers outside tried shoving their way into the already crowded store
In a separate video clip, a woman could be seen losing her temper at an unidentified target as security guards scrambled to shut the doors:
With bottles of perfume and lotion flying off the shelves and an increasingly rabid crowd lying in wait, the store elected to wrap up the sale at 3pm
