#Budget2020: Ministry Of Education To Receive The Biggest Allocation Of RM64.1 Billion

Every year, MOE receives the biggest slice of the national budget total.

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng announced that the Ministry of Education will be allocated a whopping RM64.1 billion from the national budget total

The budget allocated for the Ministry of Education this year is more than the budget allocated in 2019, which was at RM60.2 billion.

Every year, the Ministry of Education receives the biggest allocation.

RM735 million of the budget will go to maintaining and upgrading schools

National schools will receive a total of RM300 million.

Meanwhile, Chinese vernacular schools, Tamil vernacular schools, Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP), and Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) will each receive RM50 million.

This is the same for government-aided religious schools, mission schools, and tahfiz schools.

Besides that, the government has also announced a new initiative to help graduates who have been unemployed for more than 12 months

Once those graduates receive a job offer, Graduates@Work will provide an incentive of RM500 every month for the span of two years, in addition to the salary they receive.

Besides that, employers will receive a monthly incentive of RM300 for the same time period.

Another RM783 million will be allocated for repairing dilapidated schools, especially those in the rural areas of Sabah and Sarawak

The budget will also be used for building new schools in Langkawi, Kulai, Hulu Langat, Putrajaya, Pasir Gudang, Tumpat, Marang, and Johor Bahru
