A raging fire that broke out on Saturday night destroyed about 90% of the stalls on the first floor of Pasar Besar Seremban. Miraculously, a famous beef noodle stall appears to have emerged relatively unscathed from the fire.

According to a report by NST, the market caught fire around 7.36pm on 9 September. 327 stalls on the first floor were destroyed in the fire.

State Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said that only about 10 stalls on the first floor could be saved from the fire.

Fortunately, stalls on the ground floor were untouched by the raging inferno, although operators had to rely on candles as a source of light when business resumed on Sunday, as the electricity supply had been cut off due to the incident.

The next day, the operators of the Sin Yee Kee beef noodle stall were surprised to find that their stall was largely untouched, as the stalls right next to theirs were completely razed by the fire

Everything stored inside the stall - utensils, gas tanks, plastic wrappers, and sheets of paper - were also left intact and in their original state

According to Facebook community page Negeri Sembilan Events, the stall owner also found that the sirloin beef strips were still hot when they were allowed inside the stall after 1.00pm.

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the devastating fire, MCA Youth chief Datuk Chong Sin Woon announced that all 327 stalls that were affected by the fire will receive an emergency aid of RM1,000 each

In addition, Chong also said that the parking lot of the market will be utilised as a temporary business site for stall owners who wish to resume operations.
