Australian Woman Is Suing AirAsia X After Air Stewardess Fell On Her During Bad Turbulence
The Melbourne mum is seeking damages for pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and loss of income.

Erin Crocker, 36, of Melbourne, Australia has filed a lawsuit against long-haul budget airline AirAsia X after an incident onboard left her with an injured foot
Crocker was returning from a family holiday in Thailand on 4 April 2014 when the plane hit severe turbulence. She was thrown to the floor, then a flight attendant fell on top of her and landed on her foot, causing injuries that required major surgery.
According to a Herald Sun report, Crocker suffered multiple joint fractures, a ligament tear, and a deep vein thrombosis.
She was also forced to take time off work to recuperate.
Crocker, who works as a nurse, is now seeking damages for pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and loss of income. She has also rejected a settlement offer from AirAsia X as it only "represents only a minute fraction of the claim’s true value".
“It is unfortunate that we had to commence legal proceedings in the Supreme Court, but AirAsia made an offer of settlement which represents only a minute fraction of the claim’s true value," Crocker's lawyer Nancy Yonan was quoted in report.
According to Yonan, AirAsia had wanted Crocker to sign away any future entitlement to make a claim.

The Melbourne mum's lawyer, Nancy Yonan, said that Crocker had initially decided to not continue her claim when she learned of the QZ8501 crash, as she thought it'd be like taking money away from the victims
"Ms Crocker did not want to continue her claim when she learned of the QZ8501 crash, as she was of the view she would be taking money away from those victims, but now she's determined to fight on," Yonan said.
The airline's QZ8501, from Indonesia's Surabaya to Singapore, crashed into the sea, killing all 162 passengers.
AirAsia X has since confirmed that the lawsuit has been filed in the Supreme Court in Australia, but refused to reveal any details other than their legal team is now working on the case
A spokesperson from AirAsia X said that the suit by nurse Erin Crocker, 36, had been filed in the supreme court in Australia, but declined to elaborate further as it had become a legal case.
“We can confirm the lawsuit. It has been filed in the Supreme Court in Australia. We can’t comment because it’s already a legal suit. The suit is against AirAsia X, not AirAsia,” the spokesperson added.
