Army Says No Signs Of Physical Abuse In The Case Of Soldier Who Allegedly Died By Suicide

An autopsy has revealed that there were no physical injuries on the body of soldier Abdul Aziz Aznam that could be linked to elements of crime and abuse, according to the Malaysian Army (TDM)
In a public statement last night, 8 September, the Army said that a specialist from Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, conducted a post-mortem on the deceased soldier on 7 September.
Army soldier Abdul Aziz Aznam was pronounced dead at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital (HSNI) on Sunday, 6 September. A week before that, he reportedly fell off his hostel building in Batu Pahat.
While the deceased soldier suffered serious head injuries after his fall from the third floor of the residential building at the camp, the autopsy revealed there were "no other physical injuries on the body that could be linked to elements of crime and abuse", read the TDM statement that was posted on its Facebook page.

The statement, meanwhile, said that the Army was open to cooperating with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to assist in the investigation and that they have handed the matter completely to the police.
"TDM will not compromise with any officers and members involved in any illegal conduct," it said.
