An Ex-Cop Charged With Sexually Assaulting A Teenage Boy Claims He Is Mentally Insane
He was dismissed from the force earlier in September.

A former police lance corporal, Fazlie Zainuddin, who charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy, claims to be mentally ill
The 33-year-old decided not to plead guilty after learning the hefty penalty for the offence, telling the judge he "is not in my right mind"
While Fazlie had pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court in Kuching after being charged with sexually molesting a 14-year-old boy at the guard post of the Sarawak police headquarters in Jalan Badruddin on 4 September, when asked if he maintained his guilty plea, Fazlie said: "I am not in the right state of mind."
Following which, Judge Dayang Ellyn ordered for him to be sent to the Kota Sentosa Hospital for psychiatric observation for a month. The outcome of the observation will determine whether Fazlie is in the right state of mind to make a guilty plea.
He will now be produced in court on 15 December for further mention of the case.
The former Lance Corporal, who was dismissed from the force back in September after be pleaded guilty, faces two charges under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017
The two counts of physical sexual assault took place on the same day, 4 September.
In the first incident, Fazlie was accused of committing the offence by touching the body of a teenage boy at the guard house of the state police headquarters. While in the second incident, he allegedly sucked the nipple of a Form 2 student in front of the Paragon Building in Batu Kawa, Bernama reported.
If convicted, Fazlie Zainuddin could be jailed for 20 years and canned.
When the accused told the court interpreter that he is suffering from mental illness, several policemen inside the courtroom, believed to be part of the investigation team for the case, looked puzzled
Fazlie is currently serving a 12-month jail term after pleading guilty to four counts of forgery. He was fined RM2,000 in default three months’ jail for each offence of forging documents under Sections 465 and 471 of the Penal Code.
