He might not be making waves in Hollywood just yet, but you can always bet on Alvin Tan to draw attention to himself the moment you forget about his existence

Earlier today, Alvin uploaded a video titled "Muslim Call To Prayer - Azan (R&B cover)" to his public page and it's exactly what it says on the tin. The video depicts a shirtless Alvin singing his version of the Islamic call to prayer while swaying exaggeratingly to the music.

As expected, the video sparked a whole new level of outrage from Facebook users - Muslim and non-Muslim alike - who chided Alvin for being disrespectful as well as in advocating inciting racial and religious intolerance.

But Alvin Tan does not back down from the haters...

On the other hand, some Muslim commenters were glad to see Alvin reciting the sacred words of Islam and even welcomed him with open arms should he wish to embrace the religion one day

As of press time, the video has been shared over 3,500 times on Facebook. Watch it here:

Muslim Call to Prayer - Azan (R&B cover)

Have you had your dose of Allahuakbar for the day!? This is dedicated to the one and only true God, Allah s.w.t., peace be upon Him! And please don't badger me about the wrong lyrics... First, this is a cover, so creative modification is permitted. Second, I ain't a suicide bomber aight. My latest goal is to get all mosques in Malaysia to play my cover instead of having them old geezers hunched over the mics, straining their vocal chords and cracking their voices. Let them geezers rest already... preferably in eternal peace.ALLAHUAKBAR! #Islam #ReligionOfPeace
