Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced an increase in funding to treat rare diseases under the 2025 Budget, which is being tabled in Parliament today, 18 October
The finance minister said RM25 million will be earmarked to cover medical costs for individuals suffering from rare diseases, representing a significant boost in support for those affected by conditions that are often costly to treat and difficult to manage.
Meanwhile, the mySalam insurance scheme will be expanded to include coverage for rare diseases as well as Rheumatoid Arthritis, providing further relief to patients with these conditions.
