ALERT: Part Of Jalan Kuala At Slim River Has Collapsed
Water was flowing out of the cracks, possibly due to a burst underground water main.

Heavy rain last night, 1 December, has caused a road at Slim River to cave in resulting in more than 1,000 villagers living in Kampung Kuala Slim and nearby areas to face difficulty in moving around
Jalan Kuala Slim leading to Felda Besout and areas close to the Perak border with Selangor near Slim River has been closed to heavy vehicles following a landslide at the fourth mile (6.4 km), according to the Slim River Fire and Rescue Service.
Its chief, Md Zain Mohd Saedin, said no one was reported injured in the incident which the service was alerted to at 8.23 pm yesterday.

As per The Star, upon receiving a call from the public at about 8.20pm Monday, firemen had discovered part of the road measuring some 34 metres long and 8 metres wide had caved in
The road, known as Jalan Kuala Slim, caved in around 8pm causing the route to be closed to motorist.
The affected part of the road is believed to be eight metres wide and 34 metres long.
It is learnt that heavy rain for several hours on hills nearby caused heavy flow of water underground, parts of which passed under the road.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department said the collapsed portion was estimated to be 45 metres deep. "We are continuously monitoring the stretch of road for further soil movement," he said.
According to a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman here, the route was immediately closed to motorists, adding that no one was reported to be injured when the road collapsed.
Following the incident, villagers now have to use a seven-km diversion to go to Slim River town.
