A scheduled water disruption is expected to affect areas within Petaling, Hulu Langat, and Kuala Lumpur districts, starting from 9am on 10 October

Air Selangor recently announced that the disruption is due to asset upgrading, maintenance, and replacement works at Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant.

Water supply is expected to be restored in stages until full recovery by 12pm on 12 October.

According to FMT, Air Selangor acting chief executive officer Abbas Abdullah stated that the maintenance works include the replacement of parts at the plant that have been in use since 1973.

"The works are being done to avoid unwanted incidents of unexpected water disruptions in the future," he said.

"Water tankers and alternate water supplies will be sent to these premises and other affected areas," Abbas stated

Priority will be given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres, and funeral parlours.

Air Selangor advised affected residents to store enough water beforehand and use water prudently during the supply disruption.

Commercial customers can use Air Selangor's water tankers at two designated water filling stations in Sunway Batu Caves and Selayang Mutiara.
