AirAsia group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said he would personally take this matter up with Tune Insurance Holdings.

An AirAsia spokesman gave the assurance the advertisement would be removed immediately. “We have an approval process in place with our advertising agency to ensure that all content supplied by our advertisers is consistent with our brand values. “Regrettably, in this incident, that process was not followed and we sincerely apologise for this error,” she said.

Tune Insurance apologised for the advertisement and gave the assurance it was never its intention to offend or discriminate the nursing profession. “The emphasis put forth was to have a family member around when one was sick or injured,” the AirAsia spokesman said. She said an official apology had been sent to the MNA with regret for any offence caused.

Nurses Are Unhappy With This AirAsia Travel Insurance Advertisement That Is Deemed Offensive To Them
AirAsia has been called to withdraw an advertisement placed on its planes, which has been deemed by some quarters to be offensive to nurses.
The advertisement promoted the Tune Insurance Malaysia travel protection package.

Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Is Asking For AirAsia To Issue An Apology To All Nurses In Malaysia
The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) has also asked AirAsia to offer an immediate apology to all nurses in Malaysia.
MMA president Datuk Dr N.K.S.Tharmaseelan said that the advertisement was offensive as it belittled the nursing profession.
“MMA is perturbed and objects to the offensive advertisement featured on the seatbacks of Air Asia planes,” said Tharmaseelan.
Tharmaseelan added that the advertisement, carried all over their service routes would be viewed by people of all nationalities and give travellers a negative impression of Malaysian nurses. “Painting an entire profession in ugly colours with the same brush is grossly unfair. Air Asia should vet adverts and not blindly accept adverts drawn up by their agents. The placing of such an advert is incomprehensible,” he said.
“This advert shows utter lack of understanding of the role of nurses. The basic role of nurses is to care for others in the best way possible- night or day. “This advert reveals a condescending attitude , that verges on arrogance. This attitude that reveals a lack of care and empathy for others is to be abhorred ," said Tharmaseelan

I could not possibly know where to start to tell how much sacrifices we nurses have to endure. Selling insurance??? Many way of advertisement could do that BUT NOT BY DISGRACING OUR NOBLE PROFESSION!!!!
