Addict Who Stabbed His Niece More Than 30 Times Tested Negative For Drugs

A 21-year-old drug addict who stabbed his three-year-old niece to death tested negative for drugs
The suspect was brought to the morgue in Hospital Kuala Lumpur for blood and urine drug tests.
Image via Sin Chew DailySin Chew Daily reported Sentul district police chief ACP R. Munusamy as saying that the suspect passed the urine drug test, indicating that he was not under the influence when he murdered his niece. On top of that, the suspect has no record of mental illnesses.
However, according to China Press, police have sent the urine and blood samples of the suspect for further tests as he is believed to have consumed a New Psychoactive Substance (NPS), which easily goes unnoticed in a urine drug test.

theSun reported that the victim's grandmother found her blood-soaked, and covered with a cloth in the storeroom.
"The suspect was playing with the victim in the presence of the grandmother, while the mother and (the victim's) younger sibling, a baby, were upstairs," Munusamy was quoted as saying by theSun.
The grandmother left the house half an hour after the suspect arrived, and returned to her unconscious granddaughter, while the suspect was upstairs playing with the baby.
The victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Desa Park City Hospital, and her remains were later sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a post-mortem.

According to Free Malaysia Today, the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Munasamy said that the police had yet to establish a motive for the murder, and the object used in the killing remains unfound.
