41-Year-Old Who Threatened A Policeman With A Knife Was Shot Dead Outside Komtar
He chased the cop with an 18cm-long fruit knife.

On Friday, a policeman shot dead a 41-year-old man who threatened to stab him with a knife at the iconic Komtar building
The incident happened a 3.10pm on the ground floor of Komtar during an altercation between the man, identified as T. Shanmugasundram, and another man.
"The victim was involved in a quarrel with another man when our officer tried to break them up," Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Che Zaimani Che Awang was quoted as saying by Malay Mail on 23 November.
The ground floor of the Komtar Tower also houses the state government offices.

However, when the police adviced both the men to stop, Shanmugasundram did not heed the advice and instead went for one of the policemen. He chased him for about 10 metres while brandishing a knife and threatening to stab him, ACP Che Zaimani said.
Fearing for his life, the policeman opened fire at Shanmugasundram in self-defence.
"The suspect tried to attack the policeman with an 18cm-long fruit knife. The officer warned him to back off but to no avail. The suspect was stubborn and kept attacking the policeman, forcing the latter to open fire in self-defence," the ACP added.
ACP Zaimani revealed that Shanmugasundram, who is from Klang, Selangor, has a previous record of 15 narcotics and criminal cases
Among the 15 criminal records, six are for drugs. He had also been convicted of theft, burglary and causing hurt to deter a public servant from discharging his duty.
