On Saturday, 5 April, a man driving a Perodua Kelisa reportedly abducted a young girl with learning difficulties from a playground in Melaka and drove her more than 500km to his village in Kedah

Police arrested the man at around 4am yesterday morning, 7 April in Sungai Petani, for abducting the 17-year-old victim, who was reported missing from her home in Taman Rambai Idaman, according to Bernama.

"The suspect admitted to taking [the girl] in his car to drive around Seremban, Ipoh, Bukit Mertajam before heading to his village in Baling," said Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit.

"No illegal items were found in the car of the suspect, who is a trader residing in Melaka."
