Top Glove Factories Close Down In Stages After More Than 2,500 COVID-19 Positive Cases
The multinational company stated that about 5,700 workers were screened for the virus.

A total of 28 Top Glove factories in Meru, Klang, will be closed temporarily following a surge in COVID-19 cases linked to the Teratai cluster
In his live conference yesterday, 23 November, Defence Minister Ismail Sabri said that the special Cabinet meeting has agreed to shut down the factories in stages to test the workers and undergo quarantine.
The closure will be coordinated by the Selangor State Security Committee and the Top Glove management.
Top Glove stated that 16 facilities were closed since 18 November, while 12 facilities are still operating with reduced capacity and will be temporarily closed in stages
According to their press statement, about 5,700 workers in Top Glove hostels were screened for the virus.
However, Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said he was informed by the factory management that around 13,000 people worked in 28 different buildings.
During his daily briefing on 23 November, he said that 5,767 workers were tested so far, with 2,524 tested positive, 1,330 tested negative, and 1,913 were still waiting for their results.
"The Klang District Health Office is working with the factory management to plan the screening of all these workers," he added.
