A 25-year-old man lured two of his neighbour's daughters with chocolates and cash to a remote area, before raping them

According to a report by New Straits Times, the incident happened on 6 November. The man had offered one of the victims, an eight-year-old, with chocolates and cash, so that she would go on a motorcycle ride with him around the village.

He ended up taking her to a remote water tank at Taman Mahkota Aman, where he raped her.

The victim's six-year-old sister was raped using the same tactic. The perpetrator took the child to an oil palm estate near their housing area and raped her there.

After committing the heinous crimes, the man had apparently dropped the victims home, pretending like nothing had happened.

The girls immediately informed their parents, who quickly lodged a report on the incident at the Jaya Gading police station on the same day.

Kuantan police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Aziz Salleh revealed that the authorities arrested the perpetrator two days later on 8 November.

Initial investigations revealed that both victims knew the perpetrator, a single man, who lived with his parents and siblings.

"During the raid, the suspect, who works as a lorry attendant, had just arrived at his house after delivering items. He was stunned at the presence of policemen and didn't escape."

"Based on checks by the police, the suspect has no criminal record and tested negative for drugs when subjected to a urine test." explained Abdul Aziz during a press conference yesterday, 24 November.

The man is under remand until 28 November to assist investigations under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape. If convicted, the perpetrator will be slapped with a jail sentence of no more than 20 years and a fine.
