23-Year-Old Man Detained For Trying To Retrieve Fallen Earphones On LRT Track

A 23-year-old man was detained by police on Monday, 27 March, for trespassing onto Light Transit Rail (LRT) train tracks to retrieve a pair of earphones he had dropped

The incident occurred at approximately 8.09am at the Taman Paramount LRT station. The station's alarm system went off, detecting the presence of the man on the Platform 1 (Northbound) train track.

According to a statement by Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, the man's actions caused a three-minute delay.

The police was called to the scene at 9.28am to detain the Malaysian.

The man was investigated under Section 62 of the Railways Act 1991 (Act 463) at the Petaling Jaya court for trespassing onto train tracks

He was brought to court and charged yesterday, 28 March.

Mohamad Fakhrudin has urged the public to always obey the law and refrain from committing illegal acts.
