A 10-year-old boy panicked after his head was stuck in a cone while at school in Pontian, Johor

He was playing with his friends at SK Api Api when he put the cone on his head with too much force and became trapped inside for 30 minutes, reported New Straits Times.

The Year Five student's friends and teachers tried to dislodge the cone, but their efforts proved futile, reported Malay Mail.

The fire department was called to free the student from the cone

"Six firefighters rushed to the scene with an SOS Rescue Tool after receiving a call about the incident at 1.28pm," said Pontian Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Mohd Ezal Azman.

"We spent 20 minutes freeing the 10-year-old victim by cutting the cone using the rescue tool," Ezal added.

The firefighters left the scene after the student was freed from the cone.
