The crocodile had forcefully pulled him into the water and he was struggling hard to escape when he decided to punch the reptile in the eye

Fortunately, his quick thinking saved him and the crocodile released its clench on the boy.

The young victim quickly climbed on land and was brought by a family member who was on-site to the hospital for treatment of the bite wounds.

The 34-year-old family member, only known as Din, said that the investigations and X-ray done in Tawau Hospital showed that the boy suffered a flesh wound on his right thigh, and had no other serious injuries.

He has been placed in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for monitoring.

"He's now in stable condition after being in the operating room until 10pm last night," Din said, as quoted by Berita Harian on Wednesday, 22 April.
