Pizza Hut has introduced a snake meat pizza, in collaboration with renowned snake soup restaurant Ser Wong Fun in Hong Kong

Drawing inspiration from the classic snake stew, the nine-inch pizza showcases a blend of shredded snake meat, black mushrooms, and Chinese dried ham.

According to South China Morning Post, this unconventional pizza does not have your typical tomato sauce or white cheese sauce base — it is entirely from the essence of boiled down snake soup.

CNN reported that the meat shares a similar texture to that of dry chicken meat.

This new and exotic pizza is only available in Hong Kong until 22 November.

Snake soup is regarded as a seasonal delicacy, served during the winter

Traditional snake soup, known as 'seh gung' in Cantonese, features a thick broth brewed from chicken and pork, and is typically incorporating the flesh of two to five snake breeds.

Traditionally believed to possess medicinal properties, snake meat is thought to able to warm the body from the inside out, acting as a shield against the harsh winter weather.

Pizza Hut states that it can also boost blood circulation.

"Combined with pizza, it marks a breakthrough from the conventional concept of what maintaining good health means while challenging one's taste buds," Pizza Hut Hong Kong said in a statement to CNN.

This isn't the first time Pizza Hut has been adventurous with food ingredients

Back in 2019, Pizza Hut Malaysia introduced a limited edition Durian Cheese Pizza, which drew divided reactions from netizens.

Meanwhile, Pizza Hut Taiwan debuted a chocolate-crusted pie topped with Oreos, popcorn chicken, and calamari, CNN reported.
