The World Happiness Report gets people from every country to rate their satisfaction with their current lives from 0 to 10. According to the report, Malaysians rated their happiness at an average of 5.34, compared to 6.32 from last year.

That's a big difference, considering Malaysia was ranked 35th in the world and the second happiest country in Southeast Asia in 2018. Currently, Malaysia is ranked fourth in Southeast Asia, behind Singapore (34th), Thailand (52nd), and the Philippines (69th).
