In this #MAGGIgorengMYstail challenge, Malaysians were tasked to transform MAGGI's 2-Minute Noodles (that's usually enjoyed as mi soup) into their own creative interpretations of MAGGI goreng.

In a short span of 5 weeks, they successfully received over 760 impressive entries that got us all drooling!

You can check out some of the creative MAGGI goreng recipes by looking up their hashtag #MAGGIgorengMYstail on all social media platorms.

From the entries received, MAGGI shortlisted three best recipes.

The chosen home cooks then had to go through a final cook-off in bid to become MAGGI's Raja Ratu Mi Maggi Goreng Malaysia 2019.

The three selected recipes were:

The cook-off was judged by CEO of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, Mr Juan Arnols, Business Executive Office, MAGGI, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, Ms. Geetha Balakrishna, MAGGI Noodles ambassador Sheila Rusly, and Nestlé Malaysia's Corporate Chef, Abdul Muluk.

Check out the final dishes of the two runners-ups:

For her love for spicy food, Norul Aimy Abdul Halim made her MAGGI goreng in the style of kam heong chicken, a fragrant Chinese cuisine that's beloved by many Malaysians.

Using MAGGI's 2-Minute Curry Noodle, she brought her MAGGI goreng to the next level by stir-frying it with lots of chili, chunks of juicy chicken, as well as other flavourings such as oyster sauce, tomato sauce, and sweet soy sauce.

In her reinterpretation of MAGGI's 2-Minute Tom Yam Noodles, Norizah Husain made her version of MAGGI goreng by stir-frying her noodles with a medley of fragrant local ulam-ulaman and herbs - creating a tasty dish that's reminiscent of a staple Nyonya dish, nasi ulam.

While it was a close call, the dish that ultimately tantalised the most taste buds and won the competition was the unique MAGGI goreng bunga telang

Inspired by our Malaysian favourite nasi kerabu, this teacher from Johor created her dish using MAGGI's 2-Minute Curry Noodles as a base.

To get the vibrant natural blue tint, she simply boiled her noodles in butterfly pea flower-infused water. She then stir-fried her noodles in aromatics like garlic and red chili, before adding a handful of ulam-ulaman that is traditionally served in nasi kerabu.

Her creativity and effort to elevate a humble plate MAGGI goreng into a restaurant-worthy dish definitely paid-off as she was crowned Ratu Mi Maggi Goreng Malaysia 2019.

Congratulations to Puan Hafiza Abu Muaddah and all the contestants for a job well done!
