That's right, we're talking about nitro tea, aka nitrogen-infused speciality teas brought to you by Lipton in collaboration with premium syrup brand, MONIN.

We got to try Malaysia's first ever Lipton Nitro Tea at Genting's High Line Roof Top Market, and it comes in two flavours—Blue Owl Nitro Tea and Spice Bloom Nitro Tea

Blue Owl Nitro Tea
This blue drink features Lipton's green tea infused with MONIN Blue Lagoon, a premium orange-flavoured syrup that gives the drink its blue hue. Calamansi (or kasturi lime) is also added to give the nitro tea a refreshing citrusy tinge. It goes well with seafood.

Spice Bloom Nitro Tea
This soothing drink features Lipton's chamomile tea infused with ginger slices and cardamom seeds. It has a delicate and rounded flavour, perfectly combining the floral scents of chamomile with a slight spiciness from the ginger. This pairs nicely with meats like ribs and burgers.

Mixologists Sam Pranill and Jason Soon explained the process behind making nitro tea, and why it's so appealing

First, the tea is poured into a nitrogen gas cylinder to blend for over seven hours. Then, it is served straight from the tap, giving it a smooth, slightly frothy consistency that feels light in your mouth. It also has a creamy mouthfeel, making every sip a luxurious one. Another great thing about nitrogen is that it chills the tea quickly without diluting the flavours.

Along with the two Lipton Nitro Tea flavours now on the menu, this duo also mixed up a few interesting concoctions for us to try, including a purple drink that had edible glitter! Keep swiping left until you see it.

As a brand that believes in sustainability and innovation, much thought was put into creating Lipton Nitro Tea

"Using tea blends sourced from the world’s most renowned tea regions and certified by the Rainforest Alliance, we have managed to create something very unique and very exciting in Lipton Nitro Tea through the power of technology and human ingenuity," said Nusrat Perveen, Managing Director of Unilever Food Solutions Malaysia.

You can now enjoy Lipton Nitro Tea, only available at High Line Roof Top Market

Newly-opened in October 2018, High Line Roof Top Market is located on Level 4 of SkyAvenue Mall at Resorts World Genting. It features a variety of food options like burgers, seafood, savoury egg crepes, and elevated Malaysian delights such as the whole Canadian lobster prawn mee.

Lipton Nitro Tea was designed to perfectly complement these dishes, using ingredients like ginger and calamansi to bring out the flavours of the food. Currently, this is the only place in Malaysia you get to enjoy the all-new Lipton Nitro Tea. So make sure you drop by for your not-so-usual cuppa tea the next time you visit Genting Highlands.
