Dewakan Becomes First 2 MICHELIN Star Restaurant In Malaysia

Dewakan, a fine dining restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, was given its second star during an award ceremony by the MICHELIN Guide today, 17 November
The restaurant had picked up one MICHELIN star in the French guide's first ceremony in Malaysia last year.
According to Malay Mail, head chef and founder Darren Teoh proudly credited his team when receiving the award during the ceremony today.

According to its MICHELIN profile, Dewakan is known for "crafting a heavenly dining experience that is Malaysian down to its very core", often featuring foods that are fermented or dry-aged in-house, alongside seasonal fruits and herbs.
Dewakan is derived from two words — 'dewa', the Malay word for god, and 'makan', which means 'to eat' — translating into 'food from God'.
Located on the 48th floor of Naza Tower, the restaurant only uses ingredients that are sustainably and locally sourced; and even the dinnerware is handmade by local artists.
