A New Waffle Snack Shaped Like Crocs Shoes Is Going Viral In China
It doesn't smell like feet. ;P
A new, sole-ful take on the classic Hong Kong dessert — egg waffles — shaped like a Crocs footwear is going viral on Chinese social media
Yes, it is a Crocs-shaped egg waffle that's perfectly safe for consumption.
This quirky snack, simply known as Crocs Egg Waffles, recently appeared on the streets of Tianjin.
Several social media posts of foodies getting this heel-ariously adorable snack from Zang Ji Beef Rice on Binjiang Road, has caught people's attention with its unmistakable silhouette of the Crocs shoe, complete with the signature ventilation holes.
There are a variety of fillings to choose from such as taro, cheese, and chocolate.
You can even specify the "size" of their waffle, choosing from different Crocs-like shapes to mimic varying shoe sizes.
Customers can customise their Crocs Egg Waffles with an assortment of jelly candy toppings, designed to resemble the Jibbitz charms that adorn actual Crocs shoes
These "charms" feature a variety of shapes: buttons (round with holes), stars, paw prints, fruits, cloud-like designs, and other cartoonish figures, all in bright, pastel colors like light blue, pink, green, white, and yellow.
These toppings, according to a Douyin user, are priced between one and three yuan (approximately RM0.60 and RM1.80).
Beyond these playful candies, customers can add colourful sprinkles, drizzle sweet sauces, or create a hot-and-cold sensation with ice cream scoops.
A single Crocs Egg Waffles is priced from 18 to 36 yuan (roughly RM10.90 and RM21.80), depending on the "shoe" size and vendor, CNW News reported.
Since this new snack has become increasingly popular on social media, vendors in other regions such as Wuhan and Shenzhen have eagerly followed in Zang Ji's footsteps, now offering their own version of Crocs Egg Waffles.
