If You've Ever Had Acne Scars, You'd Know That These 13 Tricks Never Really Worked...

They're like tattoos you didn't ask for.

1. Caking on layers upon layers of makeup in effort to cover up the scars

You try to cover every speck of your skin with BB cream, foundation, concealer or powder to even out your skin tone, but none of those can help with your skin texture caused by the scars.

2. Draw over the scar and pretend that it's a mole (or a beauty mark if you're fancy like that)

The only problem you'll have is that your beauty mark seems to be at a different position each time.

3. Otherwise, there's the poor man's version of cosmetic surgery a.k.a. editing apps and tools

You're a self-taught expert in airbrushing, photoshopping and blurring out any unsightly flaws you have on your face. Even the Instagram pictures aren't left out, so don't be fooled!

4. You only take photos in dim areas with bad lighting

5. You always stand behind your friends when it comes to group photos

6. If there's nothing you can hide behind, you pose with your hands over your face...

You can even tell everyone that it's your "signature pose".

7. ...or pose with your good angle, which is the side of your face without scars

8. You waste money trying all sorts of gimmicky products that don't work

All you end up with is just a stash of products collecting dust on your vanity or stored away deep in your cupboard.

9. Exfoliating your face so much in hopes you get smooth, even skin but it's just constantly red

You scrub, scrub, scrub and scrub but those pesky little scars just don't seem to budge. You're just left with a red face with sensitive skin and brown spots.

10. Putting a plaster on your face to cover your scars even though it makes you look like Nelly

11. If that doesn't work, wear a wig so big it covers half of your face

This might be too far-fetched in reality, but you dream about doing this all the time. Not everyone can pull it off like Sia, okay?

12. The 'facekini' might have originally been created as sun protection but why not use it to hide scars too, right?

Warning: This product might come hand-in-hand with some recurring nightmares.

13. Actually, might as well just hide the whole face...
