Watch Malaysians Protect A Migrant From Racist Comments In Unscripted Social Experiment
The video, a social experiment by college kids, beautifully captures the reaction of Malaysians who are faced with racially-charged message against an Indonesian migrant worker.

Racism is a serious issue affecting our society at large.
To see how Malaysians would react to racially-charged messages, a group of college kids put together a social experiment video where they got random strangers at a mamak to translate a racist Facebook message in English.
They are told that the receiver of the Facebook message is an Indonesian migrant worker who recently moved to Malaysia.
The migrant worker, who is actually an actor, wants the Facebook message translated as he doesn't understand the language it is written in. The team had already planted a hidden camera to capture the reactions of the people once they read the message.
The people who take a look at the message, hesitate into translating it. One of them asks the migrant to ignore it, telling him the sender of the message is a racist and he just wants to hurt him.
Another person who is sitting with his female friend is visibly shocked at what he reads. Going out of his way, he turns the whole racially-charged message into a positive one so that the Indonesian guy's feelings are not hurt. He then advises him not to bother being "friends" with the sender on Facebook, an "block" him.
One of them then goes on to buy him a meal, while another person welcomes him to Malaysia. What started out as an experiment to check racism quickly turned into a heartwarming display of love, camaraderie and care between various races in Malaysia even when it comes to a total stranger of a different race or nationality.
The less than 3 minute-long video, first posted on 30 March, has gone viral, amassing over 2K Likes and more than 2.6K shares and 85K views so far. You can watch the full video here:
