Have you ever wondered how millions of votes are counted in a span of a few hours on polling day?
It's not something we would usually think about but with the "mother of all elections" a.k.a. the 14th Malaysian General Election just a week away, it's crucial to understand the process that's part of the day that pretty much determines the future of our country.
That said, the counting of votes is a complex and detailed process that's guarded by the Malaysian Constitution and election laws. Failure to comply with the rules will result in being charged under the Election Offences Act 1954.
