For someone with sensitive teeth, the feeling of discomfort after eating certain trigger foods can, unfortunately, be all too familiar :((

Tooth sensitivity, also known as dentine hypersensitivity, happens when your enamel (that's the hard outermost protective layer of your teeth) wears off, exposing the dentine underneath.

That's when you feel discomfort like sharp shooting sensations after eating food that is sweet, sour, hot, or cold.

It's fairly common and manageable. But, it doesn't discount the fact that the experience sucks, 'cause whether it is ice cream or teh tarik, it's no fun having to miss out on your favourite food and beverages. T.T

In light of how common the dental issue is, Sensodyne posed us a challenge to illustrate what kinda food triggers symptoms of sensitive teeth — ASMR-style!

Watch the full video below to see what went down:

Everyone started by sharing what kinda food triggers symptoms of sensitive teeth for them

Ashley: "Okay, so mine is like cold, occasionally hot, but sweet stuff."

Iylia:
"The only thing that triggers mine is really sour food. I can't... even just looking at a lemon or lime..."

Suresh: "Sour stuff man, I can't do that."

First on the menu, a hot bowl of creamy mushroom soup, mmm

Riyal, Suresh, Ashley, and Iylia: [Slurpssss!]

Iylia: "Oh! That is hot."

Ashley: "Uncomfortable, but bearable."

Chocolate chip ice cream sounds yum! Brrr, but can their teeth handle the cold?

Iylia: "So good."

Suresh: [Winces from one bite]

Riyal: "I'm moving it to a place that is not exposed teeth, which is just my tongue."

What comes to mind when you think of sour food? Lemons! And, that is exactly what our colleagues had to bite into for the next part of the challenge. :P

Suresh: "You all know how to get us in trouble one."

Riyal: "IT'S IN MY EYE. IT'S IN MY EYE. IT'S IN MY EYE!"

Suresh: "When life gives you lemons…"

While Ashley, Suresh, and Riyal felt varying degrees of discomfort from the challenge, Iylia seemed unbothered at most, and revealed her secret weapon, hehehe

Iylia: "I'm looking back at this, I realise that I don't actually suffer from that bad of teeth sensitivity, probably 'cause I've been using the Sensodyne Deep Clean. And, I really think it does help me with a lot of things, like I don't get tooth cavities, and my teeth are pretty pearly white, right?"

Riyal: "Wow, yo, the shine! Oh my god."

Iylia: "Come on, come on."

Riyal: "My eyes."
