UNIQLO Malaysia released its new U Tape sandals this year and we decided to test them out to see if they're worth it

Although I love sneakers, with Malaysia's humidity, sometimes we just need slippers or sandals to let our feet breathe as we run errands.

UNIQLO has always been popular for making comfortable and practical fashion, especially for minimalistic fans. So when the company released these sandals in their Spring/Summer collection this year, I wanted to review them.

Here are a few things we liked about UNIQLO's U Tape sandals and whether or not they're worth getting:

1. They come in three easy-to-match outfit colours: olive, orange, and black

Orange.

The colours are not too jarring, suit both males and females, and will easily match most outfits.

We got to try the olive and orange pairs. Although I'd say the 'orange' isn't actually orange but more of a tan colour which is great.

2. They come with arches for your feet, which make them quite comfy

We wore them in the rain as well as for long hours, and they remained comfortable throughout the day.

I like that they're really lightweight on the feet and don't leave me with backaches that some lower quality footwear tend to cause.

3. They are easy to slip in and out of

I don't like to waste time putting on shoes. The velcros on these are easy to work with, especially if you're someone who is always on the go.

I just needed to remove one strap on each side and I could easily slip out of them. They also seemed to be good quality and long-lasting.

While the sandals are great overall, here are some things to take note of if you plan to get them

1. They come in sizes XS, S, M, L, and XL. Be sure to check the measurements before buying. I initially thought I was a size L but ended up being a size M (for reference, I usually wear size 40). The orange pair in the photos is size L and the olive is M.

2. At first, I wasn't a big fan of the overall chunkiness (because I already have big feet) but they ended up looking pretty understated in the olive tone and eventually grew on me. In fact, they ended up making my outfit feel slightly more put together even though I was just running around doing errands. They may not go with every single outfit (like dresses or skirts) but are still good for everyday wear.

The sandals cost RM149 a pair. For the price, I'd say they're worth investing in, especially if you're looking for footwear that is comfortable and not tacky-looking. They are currently on sale for RM99.90 on UNIQLO's website
