Malaysian Woman Sells Clothes Online In The Most Relatable Way Ever
Ng was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) that left her struggling to lose weight.
The whole "one-size-fits-all" standard no longer applies in today's fashion world.
Yibii Ng's story proves just that.
Back in 2015, Ng started her own online retail store - Taste Lady - and eventually opened a physical store in Jerantut, Pahang. At that time she was wearing size M/L and was selling similar sizes at her store.
Unfortunately, not long after that, she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) that left her struggling to lose weight.
PCOS is a common hormonal disorder in women. Some of its symptoms include body hair growth, acne, irregular periods, and weight gain.
In an interview with SAYS, Ng shares that it shook her confidence and made it difficult for her to promote the clothes.
As time passed, she slowly regained her courage and began wearing larger-sized outfits, which she would share on her personal Instagram
This led to people asking if she sold bigger sizes at the store. Realising there was a market for it, Ng decided to expand the shop's range to include sizes up to XXL.
They began to see tremendous success, and now have more than 1000 orders in a month with over 800 registered customers.
The 26-year-old also started a production line to promote her own designs with sizes up to 5XL.
On the store's Instagram, which currently has 87,200 followers, Ng shows that you can still look good, despite not having a "typical" flat tummy
The posts show videos of her demonstrating how to wear outfits that flaunt your features and how to dress according to your body shape.
Wanting to help women gain confidence, Ng takes a bold step in revealing her before and after looks.
"I want to show larger women that beauty comes in all sizes and you can still look fashionable - if you just know how to wear it," the founder explains to SAYS.
The online store sells dresses, tops, suits, and rompers, including plus size outfits - all priced between RM29 and RM79.
