Hop aboard the historic North Borneo Heritage Train to enjoy Sabah's stunning landscapes and a spectacular sunset view
The Sunset Train tour is a four-hour experience, departing every Saturday at 4pm from Tanjung Aru Railway Station.
From there, the train heads to Papar with a stopover at Kinarut Station, before continuing towards the scenic Benoni Estuary.
As the train meanders along the tracks, prepare for an ever-changing scenery, from lush green fields stretching towards the horizon and charming countryside to glimpses of local village life and glistening rivers.
The highlight of the tour is undoubtedly the arrival at the Benoni estuary.
Here, the train pauses for 30 minutes, allowing you to disembark, stretch your legs, and fully immerse yourself in the stunning panoramic views.
As dusk settles, the train will then make its return journey, bringing you back to Tanjung Aru Railway Station by 8pm

The tour costs RM100 per person, excluding food and drinks.
To fully enjoy the Sunset Train tour, it's advisable to pack a hat or umbrella for shade, a mini fan for staying cool, comfortable clothing and walking shoes or sandals, and mosquito and sandfly repellent.
Children aged four years and above also pay the same rate as adults (RM100). However, children aged three years and below can travel free of charge if they share a seat and meal with their parent.
