Calling all shutterbugs! Sime Darby Property's Capture 8 Photo Contest is something you'll definitely wanna take part in!
The unique thing about the contest is that it's split into different categories — Professional, Smartphone, and Drone — to cater to various types of photography.
So, whether you're a die-hard photography enthusiast, someone who enjoys snapping cool shots on your smartphone, or even someone who loves capturing unique photos via drone, there's a category for you.
And the best part is that the Capture 8 Photo Contest is free to join and open to all Malaysians.
This the the first time that Sime Darby Property is hosting a major contest across eight townships, over the span of eight months. They are also probably the first property developer to include a drone category in a photo contest.
Held in partnership with Canon Malaysia, this exciting contest requires participants to submit photos that best display the uniqueness of the property developer's townships
But that's not all! Your photos will also have to capture your selected township's uniqueness based on the themes of Leisure, Culture, or Nature.
True to its name, the Capture 8 Photo Contest will run for a period of eight months, covering eight featured Sime Darby Property townships, with eight attractive prizes offered for each category (Professional, Drone, and Smartphone).
In addition to the magnificent Grand Prize, participants can also look forward to other great prizes worth over RM288,888, including Canon DSLR cameras, Canon printers, DJI drones, and cash prizes.
Entries will be judged according to adherence to theme, originality, creativity, and expressiveness
Judging the contest are renowned local photographers Bonnie Yap and Pojie.
As one of Malaysia's top talents in photography and video production, Bonnie was named Marie Claire's Amazing Women of 2019, as well as Canon Brand Ambassador in 2017. Meanwhile, Pojie of Pojiegraphy is a KL-based digital content creator who's a pro at mobile photography.

Grand Prize: Trip to Battersea, London for two
- Only the First Prize winners from each category per township will be shortlisted to win the Grand Prize
- Package includes flight tickets, accommodation for seven days, and allowance of £500 (approx. RM2,767.21 at the time of writing) for each person.

- Two "Most Liked" winners will be announced via Sime Darby Property's Facebook page every two months

You can shoot at any of these eight Sime Darby townships located in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Negeri Sembilan
Here's the breakdown:
- Selangor: City of Elmina, Serenia City, Putra Heights, and Subang Jaya City Centre in Selangor
- Kuala Lumpur: KLGCC Resort and KL East
- Negeri Sembilan: Nilai Impian and Bandar Ainsdale
The contest is operating on a staggered timing basis, in which each township is given its own period to shine. Currently, you can submit entries taken at Bandar Ainsdale and Putra Heights until 7 June 2022.

This includes Leisure features that promote rest and relaxation, Culture that's abundant in their placemaking efforts, and Nature that's represented by natural settings and sustainability efforts.
Just a walk through any of the townships is sure to fill you with inspiration and have you snapping away with your camera, smartphone, or drone.
The Capture 8 Photo Contest will allow you to experience how the three themes are brought to life distinctively in each township through careful planning, design, and execution.
You are encouraged to use their skills and creativity to tell the stories of these townships, in any or all of the contest categories.
