REV Asia, one of Malaysia's leading digital media group, has just stepped into the online Chinese audience segment by acquiring Netnion Technology's two leading Chinese social news and content websites, Viralcham and Rojaklah

Both Viralcham and Rojaklah are two of Malaysia's news and information resource for trending and social news in the lifestyle industry and entertainment-related content.

Viralcham and Rojaklah are consistently placed in the Top 20 websites visited by Malaysian internet users, according to Internet analytics provider, ComScore.

Citing Google Analytics' reports, REV Asia said the two websites have a total of about 18.4 million page views and 3.6 million unique visitors in June this year, capturing a massive 53% of the total Chinese population in Malaysia.

The acquisition presents REV Asia with a golden opportunity to dominate the Chinese social news sector. "It also adds to a growing audience that REV Asia Group already has, and takes us a step closer in its quest of becoming Malaysia's No. 1 digital media group," the REV Asia group said.

REV Asia General Manager Voon Tze Khay is quite excited about the acquisition. Commenting on it, Tze Khay said:

"We are very excited to work conjointly with the Viralcham and Rojaklah team to take this already amazing business to the next level."

Tze Khay, who is also the Managing Director of Rev Asia Holdings Sdn Bhd and its group of companies, the subsidiaries of REV Asia, added, "Both websites have an SME content offering within the Klang Valley; and with the injection of REV Asia Group’s operational structure, these offerings will be expanded to key market centres in Malaysia. We will also be developing a full suite of sponsored content offerings to MNC brands which the sales team of Netnion Technology previously did not have access to.

With REV Asia Group’s existing extensive social media distribution platform in 8Share, the introduction of sponsored content will put us in the driving seat to capture and enlarge a significant piece of Malaysia’s rapidly growing content marketing spend."
