IKEA has issued an urgent recall for its IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL Garlic Press in black, following concerns that metal pieces could detach during use and potentially end up in food

The recall affects products with the article numbers 201.521.58, 305.781.89, and 601.636.02, manufactured between week 2411 and 2522, based on IKEA's YYWW date stamp format.

According to IKEA, an internal investigation uncovered a production defect that poses a risk of metal fragments breaking off while pressing garlic, creating a potential ingestion hazard.

What should you do?

  • Stop using the garlic press immediately.
  • Return it to any IKEA store at the Exchanges & Returns counter for a full refund, no receipt needed.
  • IKEA also encourages customers to alert anyone they may have gifted or resold the product to.
