Make-A-Wish Malaysia Ball Raises RM114K To Grant The Dreams Of Critically Ill Children

Embodying the Malaysian #kitajagakita spirit is the Make-A-Wish Malaysia Foundation, which gathered to organise and host their annual WishBall 2022, after a three-year hiatus.
Held at Hilton Kuala Lumpur, 500 attendees came dressed in vibrant colours to match the theme of the night — Colours of Life, which celebrated diversity, equity, and inclusivity together with their mission to help critically ill children tell their stories and make their wishes come true.
The highlight of the evening included bidding for a painting of Disney Princess Ariel by a wish child, Nazneen Zofia <3

Image via Make A Wish Malaysia (Provided to SAYS)When she was eight, Nazneen's wish was granted by Make-A-Wish after she was diagnosed with brittle bone disease. Now, six years later, she wants to make it her mission to raise funds for other children like her.
Nazneen donated her masterpiece at a reserved prize of RM1,000, which received numerous biddings from around the ballroom before finally being sold for RM16,000 to Luo Yong Wen.
Luo mentioned, "Supporting the dreams of Nazneen and others in need is unequivocally obligatory for me. Seeing what she has gone through and the immense persistence, resilience, and creativity in her is absolutely inspiring.
"The beautiful painting to me symbolises looking out to a horizon of endless possibilities and I'm sure Nazneen will achieve amazing things in her life. I wish her all the best!"
Nazneen's painting and the 30 other items sold during the live auction helped raise a total of RM114,000, which will go towards granting the wishes of children

Image via Make A Wish Malaysia (Provided to SAYS)Some of the other items that were sold at the WishBall included a package to Pangkor Laut Resort, a seven-night stay in Southwest France, a limited edition Bonia crystal bag, a limited edition Thermomix, a custom baju kebaya by Bill Keith, a pair of earrings by Amee Philips, as well as an artwork by Stephen Menon.
What's even more beautiful is that 11 wishes were adopted by generous donors even before the evening began.
Royal Patron of Make-A-Wish Malaysia, Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Datin Paduka Zatashah Binti Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah expressed her gratitude to all the guests for bringing the WishBall back to life by saying, "We would like to thank everyone who donated items for the auction, lucky draw, and the guests who came for standing by us on this journey"
