Islamic Fashion Festival Set To Showcase Trending Modest Clothing Designs & Raise Funds
In addition to channelling funds to charity, this festival also aims to make community transformation programmes a success.

Badan Amal Kasih Sayang (BAKASA) and the Malaysian Armed Forced Family Welfare Association (BAKAT) have teamed up to organise the upcoming Islamic Fashion Festival 2022 Royal Charity Gala Dinner
The internationally-known festival is based on an initiative by YAM Tengku Puteri Seri Teja Puan Sri Datuk Hajah Tengku Muhaini binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, and will be happening at Dewan Perkasa, Wisma Perwira, Angkatan Tentera Malaysia on 30 November.
The Islamic Fashion Festival will showcase the latest in modest Islamic clothing design, featuring the creative works of famous fashion designers from Malaysia and Indonesia.
On top of that, the festival aims to raise funds for charity, while making community transformation programmes a success.
Through this festival, funds will be channelled to the Rumah Kanak-Kanak Tengku Ampuan Afzan (RuKTAA) and the Centre of Innovation Tengku Ampuan Afzan (CINTAA), under the auspices of BAKASA, with BAKAT assisting the programme. In addition, BAKAT hopes to extend its reach to the wider community through its partnership in this event.
According to Puan Sri Tengku Muhaini, both organisations are in dire need of funds to continue with various programmes for BAKASA children and BAKAT members. Nevertheless, their programmes have shown progress.
"On the BAKASA side, we had seen a 30% improvement in our children's grades when we implemented afternoon e-tuition classes and involved them in CINTAA.
"For BAKAT, we conducted culinary and fashion training programmes for our BAKAT ladies (mostly wives of our soldiers and officers) with complimentary equipment (oven, sewing machines, and measuring sets), which resulted in earnings skyrocketing from RM50 to RM200 per day," she said.
During the festival, there will also be kiosks for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to display their items to the public
The items for sale are handmade by BAKAT members, the wives of officers, and members of the Malaysian Armed Forces.
The kiosks will operate at Dewan Perkasa, Wisma Perwira ATM from 30 November to 1 December.
