How To Print Your Physical Driving Licence At JPJ If You're Travelling Overseas

While most of us have transitioned to using a digital driving licence on the MyJPJ app, unfortunately, this feature is not yet recognised in most overseas countries.

If you're planning to rent a car and drive overseas, you'll still need a physical driving licence.

Printing a driving licence is only handled at official JPJ branches for now. Places like UTC JPJ counters and Pos Malaysia don't offer this print-only service yet.

At the time of writing, you can print out your driving licence at selected state JPJ branches, according to JPJ sources. For instance, in the Klang Valley, you can print out your driving licence in JPJ Wangsa Maju (Kuala Lumpur) and JPJ SELANGOR Padang Jawa (Selangor). For other states, you also can get this services at JPJ's state office.
Smaller JPJ branches likely do not have stock or offer this service. JPJ offices in smaller towns may also face stock issues from time to time.
However, it seems that JPJ may be introducing a new licence printing system that may be more accessible at additional branches in the near future.

If you are planning to travel, make sure to plan ahead to get your driving licence printed to avoid any disappointment.

After taking your number, let the officer know you would like to 'cetak lesen' (print licence), and they will give you the necessary form to fill.

Once it's your turn, you'll need to pay RM20 to print your licence. If, however, you choose to renew your licence (RM30/year), the printing cost is waived.
