Malaysians Share Their Labubu Collections & How Much They're Worth
Labubu is the new love language.
1. "I bought… To keep and flip!"
"For my current collection, I've spent close to RM2,000. The limited editions are quite expensive at around RM600 each. I bought all of them from a reseller on Shopee, they're all legitimate and original (I checked the codes).
"I really want the limited edition Singapore 'merbubu' now. For my collection, I just wanna keep them. Maybe it will be more expensive in the future. It's an investment."
- Fifi, 26.
2. "My mum just gave it to me 'cause she got it and didn't want it"
"My mum just came home from South Korea at the time, and she was like 'um, I got this thing, do you want it?' I would never spend my own money on it. It's cute lah, but I really can't hahaha."
- Ashley, 27.
3. "My most expensive one is Zimomo, which costs RM1,900. It's currently trending and very difficult to find now."
"I have around 50 different collections, from the oldest to the latest. Each item has a different value, as some come with accessories like clothes and hats.
"What attracted me to Labubu is that it's a monster toy with a feminine character. This character isn't just a doll, you can get bags, headbands, hair ties, and more. Labubu also has many interesting collections, for example, the pink Labubu Mokoko comes in three versions, each with flowers on its head, making it look cute for a female character.
"I usually buy them at Pop Mart in Bangkok, Thailand, as it's harder to get in Malaysia, and it's quite competitive to secure one here."
- Soffea Dini, 19.
4. "I only have one Labubu and it cost me RM130"
"I only have one Labubu, which is also my very first Labubu ever from The Monsters collection. It cost RM130 (but iz boypwen buy for me) since I wanted a specific color and didn't wanna gacha. I spent around RM50 on clothes and accessories for it.

- Edwin, 28.
6. "My boyfriend bought me a Labubu"
"I have only one labubu! My bf bought it for me hehe. It was RM184 from a reseller after a price hike when the Labubus went viral but at least I got to choose what colour I like!
"My Labubu came from a TikTok live reseller that my bf came across and he suddenly asked me if I wanted one. Initially, I told myself I didn't want one 'cause it was so expensive but I couldn't say no when he asked me.
"I won't be getting any more. But I'll get more clothes for the Labubu I already have hehehe."
- Angel, 27.
