"Convenience At The Right Price" — Mr Money Reveals Things To Consider When Buying A Home
With all the options available, which development should you choose?
When looking for a home, there are so many things to consider
Things like location, price, amenities, and other emerging concerns regarding pet-friendliness, sustainability, and ample green spaces can all make the homebuying decision a stressful one.
To help make things a little simpler, Mr Money's Peter Yong sat down with Brenda and Sukhbir from SAYS to look at relevant questions you should ask when choosing a new home
When approaching the topic of layouts, Peter revealed that more homebuyers are currently prioritising modern living perks such as pet-friendliness, which is why developers have increasingly started designing homes around these needs.
"I think that a lot of developers are being more aware today that the lifestyles of many people have changed compared to last time.
"I think it's very important that today, when developers construct a new development, a new area, the layout should actually adapt to that," he said.
When deciding on a neighbourhood, Peter suggested that finding balance between cost and convenience can be done by finding a home within a well-planned township
Both Brenda and Sukhbir agreed that they would be willing to fork out a small premium if it meant they could enjoy easier access to lifestyle features and conveniences like grocery stores or supermarkets.
According to Peter, developers have been focusing on developing whole townships that allow for quick access to lifestyle facilities despite being located slightly further from commercial zones in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.
"Now, I think there are always options that allow you to get convenience at a cost, and that convenience is a township," he said.
He then also mentioned that living in smartly-planned townships can offer other perks that might not seem apparent at first
"The other day, I spoke to this guy to moved his whole family to a nearer township, about an hour away from the KL and PJ area. And his perspective hit me a bit.
"He said that if you live just a little bit outside, you have that space to just calm down, because everything around you is a little bit slower. You have more mental space," he said.
The trio also added that even for important lifestyle needs, modern townships have started incorporating commercial options such as theme parks and cinemas, as well as essential infrastructure, including schools, parks, and pet-friendly zones.
One example of a well-planned township is Gamuda Land, which recently introduced a housing concept called The Clove
Brenda mentioned how The Clove allows residents to enjoy nature-inspired living in communal zones thanks to a unique design that encourages the natural flow of light as well as a large communal garden perfect for social activities among neighbours and multi-generational families.
"It's cosy enough where you can know your neighbours and have a shared space," she said.
Designed for modern living, The Clove features spacious terrace homes with lush green surroundings, catering to families seeking comfort and connectivity. With seamless access to key highways and vibrant community spaces, residents will get to live in a highly sought-after development that combines nature with contemporary lifestyle needs.
The Clove by Gamuda Land is currently available across three townships developed by Gamuda Land — Gamuda Cove in Kuala Langat, Gamuda Gardens in Sungai Buloh North, and twentyfive7 in Kota Kemuning.
