17 Full Scholarships To Local & Overseas Universities You Can Apply For In 2018

We compiled a list of full scholarships ranging from Pre-University to postgraduate.

Pre-University and undergraduate studies:

1. Yayasan Sime Darby (SPM 2017 leavers) - NEW

Region: Local for foundation but given priority for Yayasan Sime Darby Undergraduate Scholarship (Overseas).

Courses: Foundation.

Universities: Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM, Lembah Beringin).

Deadline: Opens from 12 March 2018.

Offers: Full tuition fees, board and lodging and book allowance.

Criteria: On completion of foundation and undergraduate studies, scholars will be required to serve Sime Darby Group of Companies for 5 to 6 years, depending on the value of the scholarship.

2. Yayasan Sime Darby - NEW

Region: Local.

Courses: Degree in Mass Communications or Engineering and Sciences related courses only.

Universities: UM, USM, UKM, UPM, UTM, UTP, UiTM, UUM, Taylor's University.

Deadline: 6 April 2018.

Offers: Full tuition fees, living allowance, books allowance and computer allowance.

Criteria: Required to serve Sime Darby Group of Companies for 2 to 4 years, depending on the value of the scholarship.

3. Hong Leong Bank Scholarship - NEW

Region: Local.

Courses: ANY course or field for Degree or Diploma.

Universities: Recognised public and private universities and colleges in Malaysia.

Deadline: Opens from 1 April 2018 - 1 June 2018.

Offers: 
- Undergraduate studies in public universities -- RM 8,500/= p.a.
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma courses in public universities -- RM 6,000/= p.a.
- Undergraduate studies at local private universities -- up to RM 24,000/= p.a.
- ("3+0" degree programmes on full-time and on-campus basis) Medicine/Dentistry courses in local private universities -- up to RM 32,000/= p.a

Criteria: Candidates will be evaluated based on their academic performance, financial needs, family background and circumstances, merits, leadership qualities and etc.

4. Shell Malaysia Scholarship Programme - NEW

Region: Local.

Courses: A-levels. However, performing scholars will stand a chance to pursue their studies at prestigious colleges and universities locally and overseas.

Shell seeks to sponsor students to pursue higher education in the following fields:

i) Engineering: Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, Electrical & Electronics.
ii) Sciences: Geology, Geosciences, Geomatics, Geophysics.
iii) Commercial: Human Resources, Business & Management.

Universities: Kolej Tuanku Jaafar

Deadline: 25 March 2018.

5. The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation-Sunway Group Scholarship - UPDATED

Region: Local and overseas.

Courses: Degree in engineer, business/management and health sciences.

Universities: Local, private as well as top-ranked international universities.

Deadline: 19 March 2018 - 18 May 2018.

Offers: Tuition fees, accommodation and a stipend to cover basic living expenses.

Criteria:
- Malaysian below 21 years old.
- Minimum CGPA 3.30 or equivalent in STPM, Foundation, Matriculation or Pre-University
- Applicants must have secured an unconditional/conditional letter of offer from the university
- Active in extra-curricular activities.

6. The Star Education Fund

Courses: A-levels, foundation, and selected diploma and degree courses.

7. Sin Chew Education Fund

Courses: Pre-U and degree.

Universities: Participating institutions can be found here.

Offers: Full or partial tuition fees and other relevant fees.

8. ABS - Dr Goh Keng Swee

Country: Singapore.

Courses: Most courses (except for specialised courses like medicine) will be considered.

Universities: National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, or Singapore University of Technology and Design.

Deadline: 15 March 2018.

Offers: Full tuition and other compulsory fees, travel, annual maintenance allowance of SGD6,500 (RM19,500), and hostel allowance based on the institution of study.

Criteria: Successful candidates are required to work for three years in either an approved company in Singapore or an approved Singapore-based company in their home country.

9. Chulalongkorn University - Thailand

Courses: Bachelor degrees in aerospace engineering, nano engineer, information and communication engineering, automotive design and manufacturing engineering.

University: Chulalongkorn University.

Deadline: 31 March 2018.

Offers: Tuition and program fees, travel tickets, allowance, accommodation, book allowance, and health insurance.

10. International Medical College

Region: Local only.

Course: Diploma in Nursing.

College: International Medical College.

Deadline: 14 days after the announcement of SPM results.

Offers: Three years of tuition fees, accommodation (hostel), transportation for practical training, student insurance coverage, and monthly allowances.

11. Datuk Roger Tan Memorial Scholarship - UPDATED

Country: England.

Courses: Only for London School of Economics and political science students.

University: London School of Economics (LSE).

Deadline: Applications are closed for now. Expected to reopen around May.

Offers: Full tuition fees, living expenses, travel costs (flight ticket at commencement and completion of studies), relocation allowance and visa fee.

Criteria: Proof of financial need is necessary and the applicant must have a conditional or unconditional offer from LSE.

12. GAMUDA

Region: Local and overseas.

Courses: Engineering, urban planning, social sciences, business, accounting, quantity surveying, technical sciences, human resource, psychology, architecture, property.

Universities: Any reputable university.

Deadline: Will reopen on 15 March 2018.

Offers: Full tuition fees and living expenses.

Criteria: Willing to serve the Gamuda Group for a specified period upon graduation.

13. Yayasan Khanazah - UPDATED

Region: Local (Watan Programme) and overseas (Global Scholarship).

Courses: Foundation, degree, master's and PhD.

Universities: Any institution from this list.

Deadline: 16 March until 6 April 2018.

Offers: Full academic fees, living expenses, accommodation as well as development and training support.

Criteria: Required to serve Khazanah Nasional or other approved organisations for a duration equal to the study period.

14. MOE Taiwan Scholarship 2018 - NEW

Country: Taiwan.

Courses: Any course for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. However, applicants must apply directly to the university/college for admission within the application deadline.

Deadline: 14 March 2018.

Offers: NTD 40,000 (RM5,300) in tuition fees each semester, NTD 15,000 (RM2,000) monthly allowance for undergraduate students / NTD 20,000 (RM2,700) monthly allowance for postgraduate students.

15. HM The King's and HM The Queen’s Scholarships

Country: Thailand.

Courses: Master's in any discipline offered at School of Engineering and Technology (SET), School of Management (SOM) or School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD).

University: Asian Institute of Technology.

Deadline: 31 March 2018.

Offers: Tuition fees, accommodation, and a bursary for living expenses in AIT's residential campus for the entire 22-month program.
