Got some furniture or clothes in your house that you want to give away?
You can turn your "unwanted" items into a refugee family's "essential".
Greater Action is a volunteer-driven, non-profit social organisation based in Bandar Baru Ampang that supports individuals and families facing displacement.
They are welcoming donations of beds, chest of drawers, shelves, and fridges, all in clean and good condition, to assist refugee families in starting a new chapter.
Beyond furniture, basic necessities like bedding and clothing are also welcome
Greater Action is accepting donations of clean and gently used bedroom necessities like bedsheets, quilts or covers, bedspreads, and duvets; living room furnishings such as curtains and sofa throws; and a variety of clothing items, including jeans (in all sizes and colours), casual pants, T-shirts, blouses, ethnic wear, and old saris.
The organisation upcycles donated pre-loved clothes and transforms them into unique, beautiful designs such as bags, pouches, necklaces, oven mitts, and more, handcrafted by refugee women artisans. These items are then sold on Greater Action's website, where all proceeds go into supporting these displaced families.
