1. Eslite Spectrum's grand opening (17 December)

For bookworms, nothing brings more joy than having more bookstores opening. Lucky for you, Eslite Spectrum, a Taiwanese bookstore chain, will soon be opening its doors to the public this Saturday.

Beyond its offering of English, Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia, and Japanese books, the bookstore also offers handmade items, lifestyle brands, as well as an aesthetic café, making this a worthwhile visit.

2. National Climbing Competition (17 December – 18 December)

Are you more of an extreme sports enjoyer? Well, good news for you, because there's a National Climbing Competition happening this weekend, where you can cheer on our local climbers as they speed and boulder climb their way to being champions!

3. Comic Fiesta (17 December – 18 December)

We're pretty sure this event is already on every otaku's calendar, but if you're a casual fan and would want to join in on the fun, Comic Fiesta is happening this weekend. The fiesta has an array of merchandise stalls for various animes, games, and more. There will also be local comic artists and voice actors attending the annual event.

While the tickets are already sold out, you can still enjoy seeing cosplayers from all over the country. Be sure to get a photo or two with them to appreciate their hard work!

4. Van Gogh Alive (17 December – 16 March)

If you appreciate arts, the Van Gogh Alive exhibition is a must-visit, as it features floor-to-ceiling immersive digital experiences with vibrant colours and a symphony of sound, featuring specially composed, moving classical music scores.

5. Big Bad Wolf Books Sale (20 December – 2 January)

The big, bad wolf beloved by all bookworms makes a return for the Big Bad Wolf Books Sale. This is an important event bookworms cannot miss, as it's one of the few events that sells books from all genres at a super affordable price.

Pro-tip: make a list of books that's on your must-buys, unless you're the type who go with the flow!
