Have y'all missed The Music Run by CIMB? Well, get excited 'cause it's finally making a comeback with its seventh edition!
First launched in Kuala Lumpur back in 2014 by Fresh Events Asia, The Music Run by CIMB is the only international 5km running series that features music every step of the way.
With street party vibes and speakers pumping the ultimate running playlist to keep you motivated, this marathon is a super fun one to take part in! You don't even need headphones, just let the pounding beat fuel your steps as you run your way from start to finish.
After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, this highly-anticipated run is finally making its long-awaited comeback, with CIMB Group (CIMB) returning as the Presenting Partner for this seventh edition.

Championing sustainability and a healthy lifestyle, The Music Run by CIMB calls on Malaysians to continuously strive to be the best versions of themselves
With a theme of Live The Beat, this year's edition will feature two courses — a 5km Fun Run course for those who prefer to take it easy and walk, dance, or jog along to the music, as well as a 5km Timed Run course for those who want an official time to qualify for the winner's trophy and prize money.
All participants will receive a Run Pack containing a limited-edition finisher medal, a unisex micro-dry T-Shirt, a car sticker, temporary tattoos, a re-usable drawstring bag, and various brand partner goodies.
The best part is that after the run, you can stay back to party the night away with your fellow participants, so funnnn! :D
Enjoy a fun, safe, and healthy experience with the renowned Live The Beat Show. Famously known for its main stage showcasing contagiously energetic performances, this year's party lineup includes international performers Sam Withers and Jesse Lawrence from Australia, alongside rising local artists Saint Kylo, Airliftz, and Aida Azrin.
Sounds like it's gonna be a total blast!
This year, The Music Run by CIMB is extra special as it aims to be Malaysia's first carbon-neutral event for the masses
In hopes of educating the masses about reducing carbon emissions, the event will include sustainability elements, as well as be held in collaboration with sustainable partners.
For example, the trophies for The Music Run by CIMB are 100% eco-friendly and made out of recycled materials. Plus, participants are encouraged to carpool or take public transport on the event day to reduce greenhouse gas emission and improve air quality.
Check out some of the other initiatives:
- YTL-SV Carbon, an environmental consultant company, will be accessing, monitoring, and tracking The Music Run by CIMB greenhouse gas emission in order to offset CO2 emissions.
- In collaboration with ASASRAMA, a renewable plastic manufacturer, all event-day recyclables will be collected and processed to be repurposed as high-quality reusable resin in the form of pellets and flakes to be sold to plastic product manufacturers.
- Together with non-profit organisation The Lost Food Project and garden centre Ground Control, the event will be reducing food waste through redistribution and composting. To prevent surplus food from going to waste, The Lost Food Project will be collecting and redistributing it to those in need. Meanwhile, Ground Control will collect food waste that can't be redistributed and use it as compost to reduce methane emissions.
